Summary/Abstract: The paper studies the phenomena of a multidimensional character/antihero depicted in the contemporary American complex TV drama. Giving example with some of the most fascinating characters and reviewing their inner journey, the aim of the author is to record the way TV writers keep the public entertained – using different modes of involvement, interest strategies, and specific character design. The study will also explore the portrayal of morally conflicted and rather villainous characters in the contemporary TV drama; the way the most multi-faceted, compelling characters are created and the possible boundaries of experimentation in cable TV.
