Summary/Abstract: This paper exemplifies two theatre performances by director/set designer creative tandems (Tsikova – Valkanov and Viharova – Uzunov) at the turn of the 1990s in the Bulgarian theatre, which made a kind of an aesthetic breakthrough in the normative aesthetics, or a deliberate therapeutic escape.
