Summary/Abstract: The article explores the problem of the changing social context with a hypothesis of how theatrical language could change in relation to the new conditions of a health crisis, a global pandemic and the growing military situation in Europe. The text focuses on the problem of how theatre operates in these new efforts, looking into the new social realities. The two artistic facts that serve as an example are part of the regional theatrical context of the Balkans – one performance from Serbia and one from Bulgaria. The approaches of the two performances are completely different, in a certain sense even opposite – the Bulgarian one uses digitization and online means, and the Serbian one uses personal narratives as the source for the aesthetic language and aesthetic organization of the performance.
