Summary/Abstract: The paper will highlight that the work processes and stages, through which the digitization of archival records goes through, varies from fonds to fonds and depends entirely on requirements, physical condition and accompanying information on fonds or archival collections. Digitalization is an integral part of every archival institution and plays a central role in storing and accessing information on archival records. Digitization, as a work process in the creation, management and archiving of archival records, no longer stands at opposite ends of the process of arranging and processing archival fonds and collections, but is integrated all the way through and can also be a precursor.
