Summary/Abstract: The article is a literary perspective on the creative unknown profile of Maria Szetkiewiczówna, wife of Henryk Sienkiewicz, and her letters to mother – Wanda Szetkiewiczowa. The daughter's letters to her mother show a well-read, ambitious and young woman who wants to learn in a variety of ways. In addition, Maria turns out to be a modern, independent and independent woman, which was rare in the nineteenth century. They also show their mother as a calm, balanced, loving and decision-making woman. The dominating theme of both ladies’ correspondence is health, or rather the lack of it.
