STYLISTIC OF THE LANGUAGE CRISIS IN ABDELLATIF LAÂBI'S MAD OF HOPE

Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the language crisis in the prison narrative. We opted for Abdellatif Laâbi's Le Fou d´espoir; Moroccan writer and political ex-prisoner. By making use of an exclusively stylistic approach, we will try to emphasize all the stylistic codes which organize, two major isotopies: "the unspeakable" and "the women". We will proceed by an analysis of microstructural and macrostructural figures of speech, the types of sentences and the distribution of syntactic masses. Everything will be approached according to the disarray, which torments the prisoner during his interior monologues, about his status as witness and the awareness of the limits of a language that has become unusable.
