Summary/Abstract: In the article we present one of the graves from the oldest part of the necropolis Kapiteljska njiva in Novo mesto, that is, from the flat cremation cemetery dating to the Late Bronze and Early Iron Age period. In view of the grave-goods,grave construction, and position of the burial 33 within the already exploredpart of the necropolis, we infer that the buried individual – horseman – had aneminent position in the community of that time. The grave-goods point to connectionswith middle and lower Danube area on one hand, while on the other theydemonstrate relations with the west, that is, with the region of northern Italy.
