Summary/Abstract: Born in 1811 in a French family, Urbain Jean Joseph Le Verrier has graduate the Polytechnic School in 1831 and started his scientific activity in the chemistry research laboratory of Joseph Louis Gay-Lussac. In parallel to these research areas he will dedicate to his studies in the field of astronomy, which will become the reference field of his scientific activity. In 1837 Le Verrier will leave the field of chemistry, devoting to geodesy and mechanics and in 1846 he has discovered the existence of planet Neptune using only mathematical calculations, that will remain the greatest triumph of theoretical astronomy. In 1853 he became director of the Astronomical Observatory of Paris. He was the creator of Department of Astral Mechanical Engineering, University of Sorbonne and published a considerable number of works on celestial mechanics field. His name appears in over 150 scientific documents of the time.
