Summary/Abstract: As the Arctic climate continues to warm, the importance of Greenland, as an essential element of the geopolitical system of the Arctic region, will increase. The growing availability of local energy resources and rare earth elements will result in the rising interest in the island from the side of external entities. Political and economic activity of third factors, directed towards the capital of Greenland - Nuuk, will thus increase. This phenomenon will be accompanied by enhanced Greenland's aspirations to achieve full political sovereignty.
