Summary/Abstract: Recognition and respect for relations with nonhuman life forms (other Earthlings) and also with the mineral Earth seems to be a necessary condition for our species to achieve a better understanding of our own planetary ecological problems. This article offers an analysis of art projects focusing on emerging communities of biological and mineral species. Its aim is not a denigration of life but highlighting the need to extend biontology by acknowledging the agency of mineral species and pointing out the coevolution of life and minerals.
