Summary/Abstract: In this study, the author tries to show the main stages of the evolution of the person's institution in Romanian civil law in the last two centuries. The purpose of the article is a historical analysis from the perspective of the legal texts available to highlight the transformations produced in the form and content of this institution from the first modern attempts to legislate the Person in the first codes of the modern time to the contemporary civil code.
