Summary/Abstract: The article puts forth a series of reflections on the concept of time. The author makes reference to the various meanings the latter acquires in the specialized literature from various fields: physics, philosophy, sociology, anthropology etc. Several theoretical frameworks are referred to, such as those elaborated by Descartes, Einstein, Kant or Newton. The paper thus concludes that the concept of time is a crucial one in each of the sciences under consideration, as it is characteristic for an individual’s understanding of the world and for the way in which the former connects to the latter.
