Summary/Abstract: In most of her books Herta Mϋller has a discourse which is dominated by the political reality of the communist regime or by the World War II period. The novel “The Hunger Angel” brings forward a striking cognitive reality, also a shocking one, which reflects into a series of memory elements at the level of the discourse.Herta Muller’s discourse is built as an intratextual memory and the text succession creates a true discoursive community. The relationship between the writer and the discoursive memory is uncommon because Romanian as a language acts mostly on German, ensuring its identity through a series of conservation mecanisms of the discoursive memory.
