Summary/Abstract: The book, published in Babel Publishing House from Bacau, 2012, contains 340 pages and is entitled În descendenţa lui Pârvan. From the “Foreword” we find out that the volume was made with the occasion of celebrating 130 years since V. Pârvan’s birth and commemorating 85 years, after his death. After the first chapter, devoted to Pârvan and his work, there follow nine chapters dedicated to famous archaeologists and historians, considered as “the line of Pârvan”: Ion Nestor, Mircea Petrescu, Dâmboviţa, Dumitru Protase, Iulian Antonescu, Dan Gh. Teodor, Alexandru Zub, Răzvan Teodorescu, Ioan Scurtu and Victor Spinei. Vasile Pârvan is considered the founder of the modern school of archeology in Romania. Through his fundamental work Getica he returned us a millennium of our ancient history and through other works he unraveled the development of the historical process from Dacians to Daco-Romans and so on to the Romanians. He remains a model of archeologist and historian for generations to come.
