Summary/Abstract: Studies of the legends concerning the famous Maharal of Prague have focused to a very large degree on the motif of the Golem. Since the legend of Maharal and the Golem of Prague did not appear in any written text until 1836, this has led to a concentration on images of Maharal from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries.
