Summary/Abstract: On Friday, November 22, 1619, a mail pouch left Prague for Vienna. In it were fifty-four letters in Yiddish and Hebrew, from nearly forty Prague Jews to their relatives in Vienna. The letters never reached their destinations. Instead, they ended up in the Habsburg archives, where they were discovered and published in 1911 by Alfred Landau and Bernhard Wachstein.
