Summary/Abstract: The landscape, as a species of the artistic genre of easel painting, was formed, in modern Romanian art after 1800, in a real column, in a first-class level of our art edifice, representative as thematic and as style, as an artistic value, practiced by all Romanian painters, from Henric Trenk and Anton Chladek, up to Ion Sălișteanu and Viorel Mărginean, including the great ones painters Nicolae Grigorescu, Ion Andreescu, and Ștefan Luchian. With all of them, the landscape Romanian still waiting for its theorists, both to have continued the study of the landscape from the 19th century, as well as from the 20th century. The landscape is a species that has proved to be capable of achievements of great artistic value and which also aroused and an important stimulus in terms of art history and theory.
