Summary/Abstract: The limestone ostracon found during the Hungarian excavations in the Theban necropoleis, in the area of Theban Tomb 413 (Qen-Amun) contains scenes which can doubtlessly be related to one of the paintings of the rock cut tomb. Although the scenes depicted in the painting and on the ostracon are not identical in every detail, the contents of each register suggest that the sketch in line-drawing could be prepared while the painting was planned, supposedly as one of its variants proposed by the artist Among the similar artists’ sketches remained to us from the New Kingdom and especially from the Eighteenth Dynasty, those depicting not only smaller details but the whole composition are rather rare. This find can off er new aspects for our understanding of the work procedures of ancient Egyptian artists.
