Summary/Abstract: This is the first part of the report on the 2010 season of the Hungarian Archaeological Mission working on the south slope of the el-Khokha hillock in the Theban necropolis, Egypt. The western half of the large, 20th century mud brick house called Bet Bogdady has been removed and most of the debris cleared. The house can be interpreted as a piece belonging to the latest phase of the researched area. Its plans, archive photographs and the documents of the late owners recovered during the clearing have made it possible to reconstruct the history of the century-old building. The rather complex construction survived several modifications and the function of the rooms was regularly changed. The architectural relations of the ancient rock cut tombs below and around the house can be investigated step by step as the clearing proceeds (TT 48, TT 184, TT 185, TT 241, TT 412, [Kampp] -63-).
