Summary/Abstract: The book is the commentary of the second trip that Tommaso Fiore made to Poland in 1953. He enthusiastically confronts what he considers enormous progress compared to his first stay (1948) with and, speaking with some representatives of Polish society, he explores various topics such as agriculture, the state-religion relationship, the freedom of intellectuals. A rare and detailed account of what was the Poland of the Fifties seen through the eyes and categories of a great historian.
