Summary/Abstract: The paper describes those morphological characteristics of the standard Croatian language of the second half of the nineteenth century which have a different value and usage in modern Croatian language, with particular regard to the singular instrumental of nouns type i in which the standardization attention should also be paid to the traditional and systematic and not only to the national principle.
