Considerations on the semnification and importance of description in philosophical investigations

Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the significance of description as a predominant tool used in the works of the later Wittgenstein. Descriptions are meant to show how philosophical difficulties arise, to bring their nature into a different light, so that one can understand what is troubling about them, what makes them inherent to human thinking. Understanding the significance of description is stymied by the usual goals and methods of philosophers: the theoretical elaborations specific to philosophers make harder to see what is right in front of one's eyes.
