Summary/Abstract: According to the constitutional and the legal provisions, the Advocate of the People’s role is to defend the rights and the freedoms of natural persons. The Advocate of the People institution is one of Parliament’s main instruments to control the central or the local public administration, autonomous administrations, whatever their level of organization and functioning, and public services under the authority of the central or the local public administration, no matter whether they have or haven’t been externalized.
