Summary/Abstract: This article explores the topic of the death penalty and the arguments for and against it from the perspective of a questionnaire addressed to law students coming from the faculties belonging to the Law Faculties Hexagon in Romania.. Without claiming to be a complete sociological study, the data regarding the 2201 respondents to the questionnaire, as well as the answers to the essential questions, provide a new and particular picture on perceptions regarding the death penalty in a country where, indeed, a reintroduction of this punishment is, at this time, impossible. We also carried out an analysis of the reasons that determine law students to position themselves in favor of or against the death penalty, given the need to reveal, from time to time, not only the percentage of people who declare themselves in favor of the death penalty, but also of the main arguments that represent the core of the discussion at a certain point in the course of history.
