Summary/Abstract: On October 15th 1922, the Coronation of King Ferdinand as king of Great Romania took place in Alba-Iulia. The celebration, with imposing festivities, continued in Bucharest for the next two days. One of the most symbolic moments organized with this occasion was „the historical cortege”, which reenacted the most important characters and events of the national history. It started with the „Founding fathers”, Traian and Decebal, from the 2nd Century A. D. and went through 1800 years towards what was considered the „Final Triumph”, the year 1918. The cortege had 14 distinctive groups and was meant to emphasize the unity through history of the Romanian epochs. There are at least 128 specific characters mentioned in the newspapers of those days, yet the cortege had to be much larger. In the same time, the organizers were preoccupied for the authenticity of the costumes and the general image of the cortege, at least this is what they asserted.
