Summary/Abstract: Iuliu Barasch was first professor of natural sciences from Ţara Românească (St. Sava College) between 1851–1863. Born in Brody (Ukraine), he passed his doctoral thesis on medicine in Berlin (1841). Also professor of natural sciences in School of Agriculture (Forestry profile), in first Romanian Military and Medicine School. He reformed the mozaic cult from synagogue from Bucharest. Iuliu Barasch founded the first pediatric hospital from Bucharest (1858).
