A DIPLOMATIC EXPERİENCE IN TURKISH-GREEK RELATIONS – 1997 CREATAN SUMMIT AND MESUT YILMAZ

Summary/Abstract: I am an academician who closely followed various Diplomatic meetings in the period of 1988-2002, amid the disputes between Turkish-Greek relations up to now. As seen in the example of the 1997 Crete Southeastern Europe Summit, which is the subject of this article, most of these talks were failed. But nonetheless, the role of Diplomacy between peace and war is very important and should be used in the current problem of Maritime jurisdictions. On this occasion, I respectfully commemorate former Prime Minister Mesut Yılmaz, with whom I was a member of this summit and on many different occasions and who recently passed away.
