Summary/Abstract: The author offers his commentary on the preceding article, which is the Croatian translation of the UNESCO proclamation of the International Mother Tongue Day, in which he emphasizes that the International Mother Tongue Day reminds humankind about a number of moral and practical duties concerning all human languages and that it also refers to the Croatian society, scholarship and the state.
