Summary/Abstract: The Romanian electoral system is reviewed since its creation under the provisions of the Organic Regulation in the Romanian Principalities down to the Constitution of 1866. The analysis of the Romanian electoral system presents the events in their chronological, historical, social and juridical sequence. It is worth mentioning that modern political organization started once the electoral rights had been acknowledged as human rights.
