The 2018 Penal Code Amendments in the Hungarian Print Media from Romania

Summary/Abstract: This study analyzes the way Hungarian print media from Romania covered a part of Romania’s internal political struggle over the judicial reform in 2017 and 2018. In this paper I focus on the amendment of the Criminal Procedure Code and Penal Code, and I examine how four print newspaper of a minority, two Hungarian language dailies from the Szeklerland and two weekly newspapers from the Hungarian diaspora in Romania inform about such a significant political event.
