Summary/Abstract: The paper is searching for the causes and possible solutions for open questions and oscillations of the long reflection of yat in monosyllabic masculine nouns in plural cases with -ov- /-ev-, which have been especially emphasized in both theory and practice. Finally, two accentual and declensional patterns are proposed into which the corpus of monosyllabic masculine nouns is fitted.
