Summary/Abstract: Working from a field perspective is a fruitful place for any therapeutic process. The relational field consists of the individual fields of the client and the therapist, but also everything that they create together. When the therapist understands and becomes aware of this common field, he / she can design an intervention and monitor its outcomes. The jointly formed field becomes recognizable and gets its own organization, activity and quality. In this study, we examined the experience of the relational field of the therapist in a group therapy setting and how it changes over time. Therapists reflected on their experience of the relational field at the beginning and at the end of the session. In addition to the qualitative study, quantitative data on the subjective experience of the relational field were collected. The results obtained by the qualitative and quantitative method show that the relational field is formed through the phases of the Gestalt contact cycle and that its quality changes over time. This research has shown in different ways (qualitative and quantitative) that the therapeutic potential of work from a relational perspective exists not only in the individual but also in the group therapeutic setting.
