Summary/Abstract: The article examines the problem of foreign language transformation of poetic idiolect. The problem is contained in the specific section of comparative linguistics which contains the synthesis of the method and principles of contemporary science: translation, comparative-confrontative grammar, and comparative and typological theory of literature. The poetic idiolect of the Crimean Sonnets by Adam Mickiewicz is the vocabulary of the poet which is analysed from the functional point of view. In the article there were analysed: the poetic element of idiolect, i.e. words-keys, synthetic groups and the glossary of rhymes which consists of a particular lexical system in the artistic composition. In the present work it was proved that the ignorance in the translations of the words-keys and the levelling of the glossary of rhymes of the poet leads not only to the changes on the literary level (there takes place the mixing of the narrator and heroes), but also to the changes on the level of semantics (there takes place the break of continuity of plot, which as a result, weakens the relation be tween particular sonnets and the whole sequence).
