Summary/Abstract: Since the beginning of the first centuries of its existence the Church has been marked with the witness of faith and blood of people representing different social classes. In contemporary history the time of the Second World War is the strongest sign of it. One example of martyrs of this period, who should be saved from oblivion is the Venerable priest Jan Lesiński. The article presents the character of the martyr and the form of his commemoration in the society he derived from. It shows the value of the priest both for the prisoners of the camp he stayed in and for the school society of which he is a patron now.
