Summary/Abstract: The author of the article mentions two autobiographies of the writer (the auto biography of 1913 and that of 1926). as well as the writer’s letter to S. A. Viengierov (of 1913). Together with the factual, documentary Autobiographical Story published in1932 when the writer was still alive, these are the fundamental documents which allow to make a relatively precise investigation of Grin’s life till 1913.
