The Apparatus of Concepts and Categories in the Socialist System of Feasts and Rituals

Summary/Abstract: The author examines a problem which is topical in a social and practical aspect, and which is directly related to the building up and improvement of a system of feasts and rituals under the conditions of a developed socialist society in the People's Republic of Bulgaria. His attention is chiefly focused on elucidating the content of the categories "a socialist way of life", "conditions of living", "tradition" and "innovation". In close connection with these categories others, such as "feast", "custom", "ceremony" and "ritual" are also examined. The study is based on extensive literary foundations and an analysis of the practice of social transformation.
