Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to answer the question regarding the contemporarylanguage contacts and their role in the modern Russian language, in particularRussian economic terminology, from the point of view of their appearance,formation, and functioning. The contribution presents a short review of moderntendencies in research on languages in terms of language contacts as well as thecharacter and tendencies of the development of these contacts in the contextof research on economic terms in contemporary Russian language.
