Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the study is to consider the topic of life truth in the fine arts through a typical image. Understand the importance of the issue in the educational process related to the study of nature during all years of study at the Academy of Decorative Arts and Design. M. Boychuk at the Department of Painting. This work can be used as a guide to the program of painting. The methodology of the article is based on the application of such scientific methods as historical, analytical, method of psychological observation, experimental method, method of conversation, method of analysis of products of mental activity (study of drawings, works of literature, art, etc., biographical method, method of memories. The scientific novelty of the work considers this problem from the standpoint of its significance in the historical context and in the relevance of modern approaches in the visual process in the 21st century. The article is written on the basis of iconic works of world art by Ukrainian, Russian and European artists. Conclusions. The analysis makes it possible to trace the meaning of a typical image in the genres of portrait, landscape and easel painting and to apply it in practice in the educational process, taking into account the demand of time and to better understand the specific features of our reality.
