Summary/Abstract: The article presents an analysis of morals of three fairy tales by Charles Perrault, as translated or adapted by Hanna Januszewska, Barbara Grzegorzewska, and Milena Kusztelska. It attempts to identify and explain the difficulties with the Polish reception of the morals within the context of different linguistic and cultural realities, as well as of varying opinions on the fairy tales’ relation to morality and didacticism in the 17th-century France and present-day Poland.
