Homo crudelis in the era of Internet

Summary/Abstract: Common access to the Internet is strictly correlated with increased number of pathological activities in the Web. The paper presents the patho-streaming phenomenon – online live emissions of demoralized behaviours and verbal and physical aggression acts with the purpose of gaining popularity measured by the number of viewers as well as financial benefits. Pathostream is presented from historical perspective as an answer to the eternal demand for cruelty and also as a symptom of exhibitionism and narcissism in mass media culture.
