Summary/Abstract: The appeal process of January 21, 1959 became relevant for the decryption of the judicial and procedural methodology, during the Communist period, by accessing the information retained in the Securitate files. The formalism of the court hearings, the obstruction of any attempt at defense, the subjective interpretation of the evidence, the language characterized by double standard, sentences that in time will prove to be abusive, they all form the picture and the legal universe that made so many victims. A large part of the intellectual and clerical elite in the capital city, Bucharest, who were part of this spiritual project, were caught into the new ideological mixer established in our country and sentenced to several years of imprisonment by mock trials staged by the Communist authorities.
