Summary/Abstract: The article introduces the results of empirical research of interference and its activity in the process of learning Russian orthography. It includes the description, the explanation and the evaluation of mistakes in spelling which are made by pupils in primary and secondary schools and by students of Russian Philology. The article also discusses psycholinguistic mechanism which causes these kinds, of mistakes.
