Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the forms of everyday resistance of neo-peasants. Neo-peasants are people who migrate from the city to the countryside for ideological reasons, and try to build a peasant lifestyle and economy based on agriculture or livestock farming. I argue that the strategies of neo-peasant resistance can be interpreted in terms of infrapolitics. Infrapolitical strategies are mechanisms of resistance that neo-peasants use against state and economic institutions. On the basis of ethnographic material, I explore the difference between infrapolitics and conventional forms of politics. I also analyze the neo-peasants’ way of life as a form of infrapolitics as such, and the “non-legal” practices of neo-peasants as a form of daily resistance. I suggest that the forms of everyday resistance are part of the redefinition of politics by new social movements.
