HHUMAN RIGHTS AND THE CHALLENGES OF GLOBALIZATION

Summary/Abstract: Globalization and economic integration, phenomena which dominate contemporary society, provide undeniable opportunities to stimulate economic growth and to promote democracy. However, they overlap with the emergence of certain threats which have gone beyond national borders. An analysis of human rights from a judicial perspective, which are perceived as fundamental rights, are grounded on liberty and the reasoning of an individual as a human being, which necessarily involves an examination of the issue of human rights at a national, as well as an international level, especially with regard to those circumstances which, through serious and constant breaches, pose a major threat to universal human values.
