Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article was to analyze the smart specialties selected for the Lubuskie Voivodeship in the context of scientific and business cooperation of the Lubuskie Voivodeship. The basis of this analysis were strengths and weaknesses as well as opportunities and threats of the Lubuskie Voivodeship in terms of innovation, entrepreneurship and business environment as well as the level of science, knowledge and education. The first part was to characterize cooperation and its role in R&D. In the second part of the article, smart specializations were defined, and those that were dedicated to the Lubuskie Voivodeship were specified and characterized. In the third consecutive analysis, the Lubuskie Voivodeship and its innovation potential were analyzed based on the Innovation Development Program of the Lubuskie Voiodeship. The source of information used in the article wereonline resources of university libraries, regional strategic documents and Google Scholar. The research method used in the research process was the analysis of literature sources. The analysis showed that the Lubuskie Voivodeship has advantages that favor innovation and support for scientific and business activities for which smart specializations are dedicated. Importantly, this region is able to shape well-qualified academic staff and is characterized by high entrepreneurship. Stopping the activity of people with high potential in the home region becomes a challenge for strategic units of the region.
