Economy and society in the Fourth Industrial Revolution

Summary/Abstract: Business, state and citizens will face many changes related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. They involve many challenges, opportunities as well as threats - some of them are at the same time, depending on the point of view and practical application in the future. In the article the author tried to start a discussion and debate some of them, focusing on their positives and negatives. The research question was: of whether the Fourth Industrial Revolution brings more opportunities or threats to the economy and society? The purpose of the article was to diagnose in what direction the economy and society will go in the near future and whether there will be changes for the better. It has been hypothesized that the Fourth Industrial Revolution carries an advantage of opportunities over threats to the functioning of the economy and society. The article discussed several aspects, proposed solutions allowing to benefit from the changes taking place. At present, it is not known what the full consequences for actions and competences are when using functions in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and yet it is now necessary to think about the opportunities and threats that "Industry 5.0" will bring.
