Duties and Ambitions. Once More on the Non-Memory of the Poet

Summary/Abstract: A presentation of the relation of several handwritten notes by Czesław Miłosz containing his novel Zdobycie władzy (The Seizure of Power). The connection of those texts, the recognition of the concurrence of their contents, and reflections on their textological status become a successive contribution to a discussion about the poet’s “poetic memory” and ways of commemorating victims of the Holocaust in literature.
