Summary/Abstract: Introduction: At present, social services are an important part of activities of public and nonpublic providers of social services in Slovakia. The current state of providing social services in Slovakia is based on the legislative framework, social policy of the state, the development of the European Union countries and the social development of our country. The currently valid law no. 448/2008 Coll. on social services regulates legal relations in the provision of social services, financing of social services and supervision of the provision of social services with public and non-public providers of social services. Objective: The aims to find out why there is a low number of beneficiaries of the Roma ethnicity in facilities for seniors, as well as anchoring the general population theory with emphasis on Roma ethnicity in demand and supply at all levels of social services. Core: Based on a look into the history of the life of the Roma ethnic group, their historical development, we will also focus on the perception of their life through the eyes of history. Social services are part of public services, which in modern European Union terminology are one of the corner stones of the European model of society. The research part identified the research problem. The research problem is the low number of beneficiaries of the Roma ethnicity in the facility for seniors, their low interest in placement in social services facilities. We have identified the stages of research and their implementation, research methods and finally we will collect and process all the research results. The research has two stages: the qualitative stage (interview) and the quantitative stage (questionnaire). Conclusion: The aim of our contribution is to positively change the attitude, perception and importance of social services facilities for the citizens of the Roma ethnic group and to build and nurture in them confidence in these institutions.
