Summary/Abstract: Foreign direct investment is one of the most dynamic cells of the global economy since the success of the GATT (General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade) on customs reductions. Growth trend is strongly supported by the population of developed countries, which passes more and more funds for investment, where income exceeds the level of extra-consumption. These investments and other of transnational companies are increasingly invested in developing countries, where the rate of return on invested capital are generally higher than in developed economies. This is reflected also in the more or less developed countries of the European Union.
