CONDITIONS OF RECOGNIZING CULTURAL HERITAGE AND INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION IN POLISH-EAST SLAVONIC SPACE

Summary/Abstract: In the first part of the article the author describes a positive, nevertheless, total effect of evolutionary transformations in the sphere of knowledge of Russian language and culture in Poland at the turn of the century. The familiarity with cultural heritage of Russia and also Russian language is an important factor in a cultural dialogue in Polish-Russian relationships, as well as a crucial educational purpose. Realization of this objective will be possible if Polish and Russian state institutions and opinionative elite are conducive to ovecoming such negative conditions of intercultural dialogue as historic burden, ethnocentric mental attitude, stereotypes and Russian ideological programs which concern the imperial Russian past. In the last part of the article, the author formulates postulates relating constructive dialogue in Polish-East Slavonic space.
